can i tie down the mattress on roof rack of sienna van?
i have a queen size bed and box spring and i dont want to spend 130 to rent a truck. is it possible to tie it on top of the roof rack with bungie cords and lotsa rope?

If you lived where I do, this would be a common sight.
What most forget is tying toward the front and back as well as the sides. Most of the mattresses I see rolling down the interstate look like they are sitting up in bed.
The major issue, beyond that, is shifting during turns, braking or acceleration, Hence tying off both front and back as well as sides.
ya, put the matress at the bottom and the boxspring facedown on top, that way you wont get the sitting up matress that doc refers to. use ropes or straps to tie it down. bungie cords wont hold it
Yeah, I have hauled matresses and box springs on the roof rack on my Subaru. They will hold 110 lbs although I have exceeded that weight at times……..
